FIRE AND ICE

Though temperatures at our sun are a blistering 10,000 degrees F, this is tough to imagine when it's winter in Fairbanks, Alaska.   In such a location, where wintertime temperatures regularly plummet to -20 or -30 degrees F, the bare trees soak up every bit of sunlight and heat just to make it to spring.
