DAYLIGHT NIGHT
TSE-05-001

April 8, 2005 was a great day to be in the South Pacific Ocean. The cruise ship Paul Gauguin was there, plying the narrow path of totality of a rare hybrid eclipse (annular in some places, total in others). Thanks to the expert navigation of Captain Gilles Bossard, the sun and the bright planet Venus popped out from behind a huge cumulus cloud only seconds before totality.  Such dramatic timing would have been envied by any great Hollywood director.
